The Gateway to The South of France

discover-toulouse-france

Visiting Toulouse is like visiting Toronto or Portland if Toronto and Portland were incredibly beautiful pink bricked cities with european architecture from the ages and green trees lining every sun kissed street.

Some Background for all the new people out there

I recently packed my Canadian bags and took up residence in France. I was kind of looking for something different. Less stress then the day to day grind of city life.

So I didn’t move to Paris – ya I know – WTF Right?

I visited Pairs – it’s lovely and I will go back but I wanted something a bit more provincial. Once you leave Paris and drive through the country sides of France, a whole new kind of beauty starts to stand out.

Honestly, it’s gorgeous.

So now I find myself in the hippest little city

I feel like I lucked out on this one. I had no idea when I agreed to move to Toulouse how truly cool it would be. Now after a few months of discovering my surroundings, I’ve affirmed that moving here was a great idea. The perfect place for me.

How to Describe Toulouse…

Discovering Toulouse Canal Du Midi

It’s like visiting Toronto or Portland if Toronto and Portland were incredibly beautiful pink bricked cities with european architecture from the ages and green trees lining every sun kissed street.  The people are interesting, creative and chill. The food is off the chain delicious (again I hail the Basque region!) and there’s so much to do here. In the past month I’ve found yoga, dance classes, painting, sports (I’m not a sports person but I gotta give a shout to the sports leagues of toulouse – they are in.to.it.) It’s enough city to be a city but it holds the beautiful sunny charm of the South West of France.

Ya guys, I’m in Love.

I’m in so much love, that I did a few things to declare it!

First – I wrote a blog. Again some of you may or may not know that I’ve represented the Diane Kroe travel wear collection as a full-figured model for two and a half years now. When I wanted to test my writing chops Diane let me take over her blog on DianeKroe.com.

So if you’re curious about checking Toulouse out and want some recommendations read my Wannabe/Soon to be Local’s Guide To Toulouse

If you want to see my joy in all it’s glory check out THE VIDEO I MADE! Ya People I MADE A VIDEO.

It’s my first one so be gentle lol but I’m hoping to shoot more as my travels around Europe continue.

This is just a taste! If you want to read or see a little bit about how I’ve been living here it is.

No worries though, there will be plenty more!

Have you lived or spent time in Toulouse? Do you know of a sweet spot I should check out? Let me know!
